I might add that if people are worried about the confirmation request
timing out before they read their email, all you have to do is raise
the default value for the delay period by coding a Confirm-Delay= keyword
in the list header with an appropriate value.  The default is 48h, you
could up that to 96h or even 168h (a week) if you wanted.
