My first response was the same as Pete Weiss's:

But I assumed that what Norma was planning was a message inviting
people to opt in or out.  If not, I'd suggest you take into account
that some of the most vitriolic conversations I've ever seen on
screen have occurred between people who were subscribed to lists
involuntarily and the folks who put them on . . .
