Hello -

our company has been running Listserv software for a while
now, hosting two mailing lists with a total of around
3500 subscribers.

Our IT-dept doesn't know what to do with the hundreds of error
messages that come in every day.
Stuff like 'returned mail: host unknown'  or 'user unknown' or 'warning,
could not send message'
We've set listserv to delete users after 4 subsequent error messages,
but still the bounces and errors cause a lot of traffic on our system -
which cannot handle the load.

Also - we do not have someone dedicated to deal with all this -
so it's done by the IT dept - next to their normal work.

We would like to know how other companies deal and have dealt
with this problem. Do we have to look into each and every
error message?
