Dear Seniors,
Could you, please, advice me on the following issue ?:
A private US based company (on line services) has requested
to "carry" FISH-ECOLOGY. In exchange I was offered a subscrpt.
to the company at no expense.
1. If the traffic from a list has an "implicit copyright"
(has it ?) is it adviceable to let the list be "carried"
by a private enterprise ? Is not the list already
"carried" by SUNET whereas anyone with access to e-mail
may subscribe to the list WITHOUT paying any fee ?
How is this seen in the US from a juridical viewpoint ?
2. I have even met, during the last weeks, a try and a factual
case of fishing up info from FISH-ECOLOGY and setting
copyright on it. For the later I have the publication I was
sent where they make a kind of PR to FISH-ECOLOGY and inform
paying subscribers (to that publication) with info clearly
caught from the list.
How are such cases regarded by other owners who've come
into these kind of issues ?
Any further advice shall be most welcome.
Regards,
Aldo-P. (FISH-ECOLOGY)
