No.  It looks like SpamAssassin is running on apple.ease.lsoft.com and it
modified the response code via a milter or similar API. (See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milter )

Hotmail was connecting to apple, tried to deliver the message, got a 5XX
error (or repeated 4XX tempfails until timeout) and gave up on the
delivery and returned to sender.  Our spam filter does something similar,
returning "451 4.3.0 Message held for human verification before permitting
delivery.  For help, please quote incident ID 37712" for low scoring spam.
 High scoring spam gets "554 5.7.1 Message rejected because of
unacceptable content.  For help, please quote incident ID 37751112.
Message rejected by spam filter"

Part of the problem is Hotmail did not include the details of the error
when it attempted the delivery.  This looks like a Microsoft exchange
delivery failure, not surprising from Hotmail.  M$ is notorious for not
including details of errors for troubleshooting.
