If you are talking about the welcome file.. you can write the file.. then
PUT it via email command.. ie:

Put ListName Welcome PW=YourPassword

if your host is using 1.8d .. this is even easier via the web management
pages.. the welcome and farewell files are accessed via
"Edit mail and web templates"

there are other messages sent to new subscribers too which can be
accessed via that same page:

(*) Standard message to new subscribers [$SIGNUP]

You are now subscribed to the &LISTNAME list [SIGNUP1]

You have been added to the &LISTNAME list [ADD1]


if you don't have 1.8d to work with.. or access to the web.. you can
change those files via the list's MAILTPL ..
