"Confirm" will block forged addresses.  "By owner" won't check forges
automatically.
 
Of course, "By Owner" allows you to personally review subs *before* they
might be added -- good if you want a very select subscribership, or if
you'd like to rely on your memory of problematic addresses you'd like to
avoid.
