I guess the rest of the universe is RIGHT! I do NOT know nothing.

What I meant by "we ran out of disk space yesterday and the list was
held." is that I was notified by HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM that our quota had
been reached, that disk space was full, or whatever term ..

Does this mean that I need to buy more space for my machine???? I thought
the archives are stored in SOMEONE ELSE'S MACHINERY! That as part of the
SERVICE that my list buys, we get a certain amount of "storage/disk
space" for archives. I don't understand how my platform has a thing to do
with the archives!! (except as I try to download for editing)

If we purchase the space, to increase our quota, do I need to be
(objectively, not morally) concerned about the VMS or Unix?? If so, why
isn't this spelled out as we purchase the Listserv's service??

The reason someone wants to compress the archives is to save that space
that we 1) are allotted, 2) purchase when the list is held. But I thought
that meant I contact Jeni! But you're telling me to go out and purchase
another drive?????????
