PMail users can change their default delimiter to anything. I do not
know about changing the system-wide default though. I think I asked
somewhere one time and managed to start a roaring flame war somehow.
I will see if I can ask one of our system administrators to look at
the manuals again. Maybe something has changed. Maybe it is not a
religious issue anymore.
