That was going to be my second suggestion, but since Ms Beauchamp was dealing
with an 18,000+ list membership, was overwhelmed by the number of bouncies,
and was asking for the most aggressive way of going about things, a clean
slate seemed rather more to the point.  Your way, as you so admirably
document it in your note, would be one step up on the niceness scale -- not
quite as Draconian.
