My advice to people when it comes to lists (or any other public forum
going back to the days of dialup BBSes) is that the advice is worth every
penny you paid for it.  I've seen way too much bad advice out there over
the years.  This isn't to say that everything you read is online, but that
you need to judge the source.

If I'm concerned enough about something, I'll consult a professional on
it.
