One such simple foul use procedure might go as follows:

The following command issued to LISTSERV:

review listname

The following actions taken as a result of said review:

send junk e-mail to all members of any particular list
lists which would be marked confidential would no longer be as confidential

Thus, the following actions taken by list members:

unsubscribe due to too much spam recieved and possibly change e-mail
addresses

Such incidents happen all the time.
