Hi lstown folks,

Does anyone have any idea how/why this error message (see below) would have
been sent by LISTSERV to the QUAKER-P list instead of to the list owners?

[Note: Errors for Quaker-P and Quaker-L are directed to a listowners list,
QUAKER-M, so that owners off duty can easily deselect receiving error
messages by sending the command:
SET QUAKER-M TOPICS= -QUAKER-P,-QUAKER-L
since most error messages have a subject line starting with the listname
plus a colon, an automatic "topic". The other topics we use on the
administrative list are MODERATE, TECHNICAL, ADMIN, and HELP. Most of us
owners stay subscribed even when off duty with topics set to at least ADMIN
and HELP so we can keep up with administrative messages and can help out
confused on-duty owners. MODERATE is for cc:s of discussions with
subscribers re moderating posts; TECHNICAL is for cc:s of discussions with
subscribers re technical questions. This system allows us to keep track of
whatever aspects of the administrative work we are interested in and to
customize what we receive from LISTSERV without having to GET/EDIT/PUT the
list headers for each of the lists we manage, and allows all owners to
receive all posts for moderation if we so wish, or turn off that flow (SET
QUAKER-M TOPICS= -OTHER). When we go on duty, we just send a command SET
QUAKER-M TOPICS= ALL and we are ready to go....]

For some reason, this error was directed neither to the owners nor to the
Errors-to: location. All other error types go to the right place. Every
now and then we get one of these (below) sent to the list. Explanations?
Fixes? Would adding Filter= listserv@* to the headers be a temporary fix,
or would that cause more problems?

Thanks,

Bruce
