I've started a list for announcing bogus subs that admins notice coming
through their sites and queries regarding suspicious addresses requesting
subscriptions to lists in the hopes that these announcements will be more
timely for those of us getting the above lists in digest form.
 
Topics for this list are:
  SPOOF  - forged subs
  MASS   - subscriptions made to any and every list available
  VACUUM - subscriptions made with the intent of getting list
           of subscribers
  SUCKER - subscriptions made with the intent of redistributing
           or publishing postings to list without permission
  QUERY  - to make inquiries about suspicious subscriptions
Please post subject as:       TOPIC: [log in to unmask]
 or (for multiple addresses): TOPIC: Multiple
 
Notebooks will be kept on a monthly basis.
 
To subscribe, send mail to [log in to unmask] with the command:
 SUB BOGUS-L
Confirmation will be required.  Send is private.  Review is private.
The list is confidential.  Conceal is the default.
 
Posting to [log in to unmask] should be available as soon as the list
is picked up by the code system (or [log in to unmask] prior
to that time).
