We went through this earlier this year.

A couple of things :

Do you use the web interface ? The new one is very different, so if you have customized web interfaces under 1.d, be prepared for some conversion/modification work.

Also, IIS4 & IIS5 have some changes in how you do administration (thank you Microsoft), but they are not too wicked as far as Listserv is concerned.

We had good success in upgrading WINNT to WIN2K on the server. We ran the upgrade and listserv came up running clean.

I would upgrade the OS and wait for a while to ensure all is working well & then do the Listserv upgrade.

Subject: Upgrading OS and Listserv software

Hi !

We're running:

LISTSERV VERSION -1.8.d
LSMTP -
WindowsNT - patches up to date

I'm going to be upgrading the OS from WNT to W2000 and the listserv
software from 1.8d to 1.8e...

The question is which to upgrade first the OS or listserv?
Are there any 'gotchas' that have been uncovered?

Any tips would be appreciated !

Regards,
Cele
