To desecrate is to de-sacred, to make less sacred than is the current
state.  I was not aware that a piece of cloth designed to SYMBOLIZE a
political entity could achieve sacred status.  To quote a political
cartoon in this week's TNR, "Does this mean we also have to ammend
the 1st Commandment?"  Where is the RR when we actually NEED them?  TGP.
