I will offer one possible idea.... your mileage may vary, void where prohibited or taxed, some restrictions may apply, don't try this at home, etc.....    but maybe what they have is the inability to enforce correct clock and calendar settings upon each and every computer that may ever be used to compose a message that is sent to the list.  If you tell your local operating system that the date and time is not what your sundial indicates . . . . well, it's not the business of a mailing list manager program to tinker with the contents of your messages.

Say what?!?  Notice those years? Is that 1916(?) or 2016(?)?  The last item seems to match the search but the rest seem bogus.  1910? 2010?  1936? 2036?  Doesn't particularly matter as either way they are wrong, unless LISTSERV has a true time machine which can tell you what folk *would* have written or *will* write (what does this do to authorship and copyright?).
