A couple hints - remember that   Default-Topics= All  only applies to NEW
subscribers.  If you didn't have that in there when you created the list
then the best thing to do after you add it (assuming you are just adding
topics) is to do something like
 
       QUIET SET listname TOPICS: ALL FOR *@*
 
to set all current subscribers to the default too.  As I recall the bug was
that if you didn't have Default-Topics at the time a user was added to a list
then the default was NONE.  I assume 1.8a will default to ALL.
