Yes, I have done it.  You send to listserv:

// JOB  PW=your_password
[QUIET] ADD listname-L user@node first last
[QUIET] SET listname-L option1 option2 . . . optionn FOR user@node
more pairs as needed
// EOJ

It won't work if you don't send your password and listserv is going to
ask for an OK on the ADD.
