The authoritative texts can be had by issuing the following
LISTSERV cmd to any Revised LISTSERV site

info database
info job

Several excellent tutorials exist with practical real-world
examples. DATABASE SEARCH can be found on listserv@ulkyvm
and AMLDBASE DOC on listserv@mizzou1 (one, not elle). As usual

LDBASE-L discusses Revised LISTSERV search techniques. That list
is hosted at UKANVM (ukanvm.cc.ukans.edu) and notebook archives
are available (GET LDBASE-L LOGyymm).

You will find other hints on the vagaries of searching in lstown-l
and help-net. Of course it helps to have a "script" (see append) --
all info after the // EOJ is totally ignored. All lines that start
with an asterisk are comments -- they can be used as prototypes.

As usual, you send the scripts to LISTSERV@host and not list-name@host,
or make use of the LISTSERV list exchange (GLX) at bitnet node LISTSERV
or LISTSERV.NET (betcha those other brandx list-processing packages
don't have their own node/fqdn ;-)) by e-mailing listname-SERVER@LISTSERV
(or @listserv.net).
