What's mildly interesting is that the response about "Don't send
money..." is apparently being broadcast at least as widely as the
original note.  I got two copies directly; one in response to a
complaint I sent to the user and the postmaster, one possibly in reply
to my reply to the explanation.  And now I've seen three or four via
lists I'm on.
 
The explanation of the cure seems to require its own cure, no?
