What I have noticed is that there are more diverse platforms, each with its own learning curve,
start-up cost, and continuing maintenance and content issues.

What at one time might have been "free" to the list-owner to request and implement now has a cost,
either financial or time.

Just my crazy $0.02 thoughts.
