I am trying to find out whether or not I can run a LISTSERV program on a
Virtual Server.

Someone asked if a Virtual Server is a VM Machine.  I honestly do not know
the answer.  But, I can give you a description of a Virtual Server and I
have done so, below, FYI.

After you read the description of Virtual Server, I hope someone can tell
me whether or not I can run a LISTSERV software program on a Virtual Server.

VIRTUAL SERVERS:

A Virtual Server is a portion of computer memory which resides at a
*remote* location which stores Web Pages and is connected to the Internet.

The *remote* computer can be accessed via  FTP, TELNET, using an HTML
editor, or using the "Adgrafix Web Site Manager (WSM) Virtual Server
Systems and Software".

Virtual Servers are assigned their own DOMAIN NAME (e.g. adgrafix.com) and
can have, virtually, an unlimited number of Directories and thousands of
Files.

A Virtual Server includes the CGI-BIN directory. This is where programs are
stored that make the Internet much more than a video brochure.

Very few Web Presence/Internet Service Providers (ISPs) actually sell
Virtual Servers.  Most of them sell VIRTUAL HOSTING which *appears* to be
the same,  Virtual Hosting  limits the customer on how much control they
have over the administration of their Web Site.  Virtual Web Hosting is for
someone who has a Web Page or Web Site and needs a place to store it.

Each Virtual Server is assigned its own unique IP address, and login
account.

VIRTUAL SERVERS run one (1) copy of the Web Server for each customer.
VIRTUAL HOSTING runs just one (1) copy of the Web Server for many users.

The main benefits of a Virtual Server are:
                  (1)   Shared resources
                  (2)   Hardware Administration
                  (3)   Convenience
