Although this is so obvious that it probably doesn't need to be said,
I'll say it anyway. How long you can put up with delivery-error messages
for a subscriber depends upon how active your list(s) is(are). One
Saturday I was away from my computer for about six hours and came home
to find 250 delivery-error notices waiting for me. If I had not set
'nomail' for the offending user(s) immediately, I would have found it
very difficult to make my way through my mail. One of the lists I run
averages well over 100 messages a day. Sometimes I have to send the
'free' command because we pass our 175-message daily threshold. It
doesn't take long for delivery-error messages to become a BIG problem.
I guess if running a list was part of your professional responsibilities,
it might be different. But most of us are probably doing our list-running
in our "spare time", whatever that is.
