Here is the text of the message I just sent to Earthlink's customer
support folks. I will let you know what they say.

I am an owner of several email mailling lists where several of my
subscribers are Earthlink customers. I read recently about a new
anti-spam policy that will require that all senders verify that they are
legitimate before processing a message
(http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105_2-1000272.html).

For obvious reasons, this will not work for mailing lists (how can a
maillist server respond to such a message?). Note that these mailling
lists are lists that your subscribers WANT to be on (they put themselves
on the list).

How does Earthlink plan on dealing with this issue? I would hate to be
forced to remove all my Earthlink customers from my mailling lists (not
to mention that those people would become unhappy and at least some
would likely seek out a new ISP).
