I believe you're referring to the "Myparty" virus, which only surfaced on or
about January 24 and so can evade all but the most recently-updated
anti-virus software.
This little "beauty" hides behind an innocent-looking web site logo and it
purports to be a web site address ending in ".COM". Actually, the ".COM" is
just an extension of an ".EXE" file that invades the host's address files
and sends itself to every address therein. It will not harm your computer
or damage files but it is a real nuisance.
Check your C:\ drive for one of two files: C:\Regctrl.exe or
C:\Recycled\Regctrl.exe If you find either of them, delete it.
