I have a call into lsoft sales to find out what it can or can't do.  The
website offers only a glossary-like definition and the manual might just
have well been written in Cantonese.

I suspect that it is way overkill for my simple use.  Besides, I am leery of
any further dependence on Lsoft software due to the obsolescent, root-canal
like user documentation.

Is anyone here using the mail-merge functions?

What about Listserv? The mail merge feature of Listserv can probably
meet your specific needs in this regard.
