My new personal policy is to immediately suspend distributions to any
subscriber[s] whose MX host presents a bounce/warning from

  ISS.TECHOPS.VERIO.NET

These folks will nag you to death seveal times a day for days for just a
single message.

This also happens on other lists hosted at other listserv sites e.g.,
[log in to unmask]

The lesson to be learned: if you don't really and truly need a
third-party secondary MX host, then for goodness sake, then "dump" them.

/Pete

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 3 hours on the queue on
                          ord-backupmx1.email.verio.net.

The message identifier is: 19qDqr-0004o7-00
The date of the message is: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 10:11:22 -0500
The subject of the message is: Position Announcement/TRIO

The addresses to which the message has not yet been delivered are:

   [log in to unmask]
     Delay reason: Connection timed out
   [log in to unmask]
     Delay reason: Connection timed out

No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.
