Actually, it's backwards, everybody...  they should be MAIL where they read,
and NOMAIL from where they only want to post (and they can also post from
where they read, of course).

I suggest posting an "addendum" to such posts telling folks
to also subscribe from the posting address and how to set it NOMAIL
themselves.  This might not always "click" but it might cut down
at least some of the volume for the moderator to handle.

This almost sounds to me like someone might have asked how to
get both "regular" and "digest" subscriptions, with the "dummy name"
suggestion coming from a confused person who thinks names need to
be unique for subscribers.  (I get both regular and index on one
list by using different subdomains which resolve to the same mailbox;
no extra account required; may not be possible for everyone though.)
