Please tell me that I am not loosing my mind!

Back in the "old days" probably about Ver. 1.7f , I am positive that
included messages  would not go through LISTSERV(R) with a (space)
following the ">" that indicated a "quoted" line.  Of course, then email
messages displayed most of the headers of the inclued message as BODY of
the message!  Eric did not allow the (SPACE) to prevent duplicate
messages and mail loops. You will notice that a (space) follows the ">"
in the Bill Hatcher message included below AND it has been processed by
LISTSERV with no problem.

What is the current wisdom on QUOTING?  Or should we all do as Bill
suggests and not quote ANYTHING?
