Two final (I hope) points.  This is an MSWord question, not a listserv
question.  Second, two column formats on things meant to be read on the
screen, whether newsletter, email, web, or whatever, are dysfunctional.  I
am one of a vast number who hate scrolling down six screens to read one
column and then back up six screens to read the second column.  It is a
perfect example of something that people tend to do "because we did it that
way in print", rather than because it is functional.  If you check out many
of the better web sites, they'll NOT have two columns, but really ONE with
the rest of the space used for highlighted points (sort of like pull quotes
in print media), links to related topics, etc.  But they do NOT use two
columns of text like a newsletter.
