Huge X-DEL job brings us to our knees

Seems this has happened before.  We got a lorge, 4900 line, X-DEL job and
LISTSERV started working on it at 15:03 today.  At 16:25 it was still
chugging away at it.  I killed it for now.  Files were backing up too fast.
Should I expect it take this long?  Probably so, even on a 3090/600.  Should
I send the requestor a note to break it up into smaller pieces?
