Though good advice, as far as his buying a Mac, it won't help everyone
else who is infected and causing either his list or his email address
from being spoofed.

We've documented proof-positive methods of bullet-proof distributions of
low-volume official announcements via lists that resist virus
distributions (even by the moderator).  Hi-vol distributions would
require a corresponding time commitment to do the the OKs or clicks on
confirming URLs.
