I got seven copies. All seven had invalid RFC822 headers, with multiple
'To:' fields, and addresses such as 'blah-list:;@chalmers.se' (I have
nothing to do with chalmers.se which is in another country, and I don't
believe anyone there owns any list). The 'Date:' fields were also
invalid. After the 6th copy I flamed back and asked them to stop this
garbage, and it did after another copy, although this could have been a
coincidence. I drew two conclusions from this mass mailing:

1. The people who sent this message seem to think this address change is
MY problem, and not THEIR problem. In addition, they are either very
impolite or incompetent, otherwise I would have received only one
   copy.

2. Judging from the headers of the messages this gateway generates, it
seems that the reason they insist that WE should make the change for
them is, simply, that they cannot do it themselves since the headers
generated by their gateway are invalid and sometimes non-repliable.

Point 2 is particularly irritating. It is a serious problem, and most
definitely THEIR problem. I, too, am seriously considering the simple
deletion of all German X.400 addresses in the users' own interest: they
will have to subscribe again, which will not be possible until the
gateway generates valid headers. This will put enough pressure on the
gateway operators to fix it. If on the other hand I make the change for
them, users will think the gateway works and complain to me that LISTSERV
does not accept their mail any longer, what did I do to cause this
problem?
