  Are you *trying* to change the Notebook= keyword, or is that just
happening spontaneously when you try to put the header after making other
changes?
 
As to the hex value of characters, if you've a table giving the decimal
value of lower order ASCII characters (fairly standard in a lot of computer
manuals and how-to books) you can use a particular key sequence, using
the number pad or the numerals at the top of the keyboard.

Not easy or quick (took me couple of minutes to do that line), but you
can do it if you really have to.
