I have never messed with a list web page as to customizing it so I've
some questions as to what can be done, and how.

We currently have the default, except for what the host site administrator
has done, if anything.  It is only for the archives and such.  The url is
of the form http://listserv.host.edu/archives/listname.html .

We have a "list web page" elsewhere, with faq, info on this and that,
link to the list LISTSERV archive page, etc.  Is it possible to put this
stuff on the "real" list web page, at the url given above?

Next, we have a very large, active, filelist/catalog.  Is it possible to
link that to the list archive page, while retaining the filelist, and the
way files are added there?
