I have a problem with the announcement that welcomes new users to my list.
 
Listserv software apparently formats these messages to right-justify text.
Besides the fact that this isn't particularly attractive in fixed spaceing,
it ruins an attempt by me to list a few key commands, in columns, for my
users.  I can't leave space between the commands and descriptions, and
the columns won't line up.`
 
1) Is there any way to turn off this formatting feature?
 
2) Is there any way for me, a lowly list owner, to update these files
directly?  My Listserv administrator tells me that I can't, must go through
him, and this creates a long delay with many iterations to try out changes.
