Regular renewal (confirm) requires a response from the subscriber. This is
the best way to know they want to continue on the list. The probe renewal,
sends out a msg which merely tests the valdity of the address, and no
response is expected or desired by LISTSERV. This is helpful to weed out
non-functioning addresses but not helpful to know if subscribers are still
interested.

If you have any people with 'problem' addresses or special situations where
they need to be subscribed under 2 addresses but 1 is always set to NOMAIL
for some technical reason, it is best to set such addresses to NORENEW so
they don't get hit by the renewal processes. If you have never used
Renewal before, a general ADMIN announcement to your list of the process
could be useful, or you might want to take a look at the wording of the
RENEW1 and RENEW2 msg templates in DEFAULT.MAILTPL and perhaps customize
them to your list/situation.
