I'm having trouble finding information on ways to search Internet
archives and "databases."  The specific question came up around Archie,
Gopher and WAIS.  Can anyone point me to useful sources of explanations,
instructions, evaluations, etc. of those specific entities and/or any
others lurking around out there?
