Mike,

I run Linux with sendmail and fetchmail, but with Mutt rather than
Pine. There was some minor tweaking with sendmail required, but I
don't recall exactly what I did. I'm not masquerading, and everything
works as expected.

Send me an email message telling me how to use the Pine "bounce"
command and I'll bounce (Pine is installed as part of the normal
installation, but I'm not familiar with it) the message to you.
If the headers look OK, I can dig into what I did to sendmail to
make it work. If not, I can't help.

BTW, Mutt is a very powerful mail program with a very active support
list. If you were using it and asked this question on the mailing list
it would be quickly answered (there is a FAQ on configuring sendmail
for dial-up connections).

HTH,
