How are you sending your mail merge jobs?  Are you using the web-interface,
the DISTRIBUTE command, or do you have Mail-Merge= Yes in your header and
send them to a listserv list?  ListServ has many different methods of doing
mail-merges and it seems they all have their little quirks.  A little more
information would help to figure out what is going on.
