Various "hi-jackings" occur innocently enough:

1) new list (at another host or MLM) is created using
   the same name as yours

2) wild-card file structures in the filelist misdirects
   placement or retrieval of file


3) mail alias is created that (partially) duplicates your
   list e.g., [log in to unmask] vs. [log in to unmask]
   (the former is a list, the latter was a mailbox unrelated)

Be glad that you aren't the InterNIC.
