Colleagues,

I've modified the text of the Probe1 template in anticipation of using it
to send a monthly message to list subscribers.  Here are my list headers
before setting up the Probe1 template with the new language:

         Auto-Delete= Yes,Full-Auto,Delay(4),Max(100),Probe(30)
         Renewal= No

My understanding after reading the manual is that in order to institute
active probing, I would need to set the headers as follows:

         Auto-Delete= Yes,Full-Auto,Delay(4),Max(100),Probe(30)
         Renewal= 1/1,2/1,3/1,4/1,5/1,6/1,7/1,8/1,9/1,10/1,11/1,12/1,Probe

In other words, my understanding is that the Renewal header is the one that
institutes active probing, and that the "Auto-Delete" header sets passive
probing.

The thing is, I just realized that another list of mine, which has the
following headers, is sending out active probes (which is why I'm now
questioning whether I really understand this or not):

         Auto-Delete= Yes,Full-Auto,Delay(3),Max(10),Probe(30)
         Renewal= no

I'd be appreciative if someone could clarify how to institute active
probing so that the Probe1 template is sent out on a monthly basis....
