Perhaps we should form a separate list for owners ONLY!  Then people
with a problem that they would like to have some sort of mass
distribution send their "plea" to this list.  I own 3 lists, two of
which I would be happy to post the "plea" regarding the MARK TWAIN
problem--if I submit the plea with a qualifing statement, I am sure
the subscribers would be understanding and helpful to the point of
redistributing the information at the local sites.
 
Direct posts of unrelated info to lists is "discouraging/frustrating"
to the membership but if it comes from the OWNER who is known, it will
be reasonably accepted.  The OWNER has a fair insight as to what will
be acceptable to his/her membership and has the ultimate
responsibility for the "tone" of the list.   Just a thought...Phil---
