Well, I'm trying to learn how to be a responsible listowner and to deal
with error messages. For some time now (?2months) I've been getting
bounces from @BBL.PSYCHA.UPENN.EDU saying stuff like:
>VTBIT.CC.VT.EDU unable to deliver following mail to recipient(s):
> <[log in to unmask]>
> <[log in to unmask]>
> <[log in to unmask]>
> <[log in to unmask]>
>VTBIT.CC.VT.EDU unable to connect for 7 days to recipient host.
I unsubbed them once, and they re-subbed (which is fine). Unfortunately,
the bounces continue. I've sent mail to postmasters:
to: [log in to unmask]:
> ----- Transcript of session follows -----
>421 psycha.upenn.edu (tcp)... Deferred: Network is unreachable
and, to: [log in to unmask]
>---- Transcript of session follows
>%UCX-E-SMTP_SNDERROR, Error detected while sending mail to
><[log in to unmask]>
>-RMS-E-RNF, record not found
>---- Recipients of this delivery ----
><[log in to unmask]> (bounced)
and these bounced. I've also looked up the contact at UPENN.EDU:
>whois upenn
>whois psycha
and found [log in to unmask], (but John has not responded--his InterNIC listing
was last update in 1991).
Any recommendations as to how I should handle this? (I have a similar
problem with an address at NIMH, but I hope to be able to apply
whatever strategies I learn from the UPENN problem.)
Thanks.
