Yes, and the LISTSERV feature is called TOPICS.  It requires the
cooperation of three distinct roles:

1) list owner who sets the TOPICS= and DEFAULT-TOPICS= in the list
definition and issues any one-time SET commands for the subscribership if
an existing list

2) subscriber who has properly SET the topics in which (s)he is interested

3) poster who selects the "right" topics in the SUBJECT: line
