We've implemented rotating bottom banners on our list, folkdj-l.
Here's today's example:

Occasionally a message will be distributed without the banner. Here's
an example -- note the two content-type lines in the message body:

Date:         Fri, 3 Mar 2000 11:58:21 -0800
Reply-To: Folk and Bluegrass DJs <[log in to unmask]>
Sender: Folk and Bluegrass DJs <[log in to unmask]>
From: Jamie Hoover <[log in to unmask]>
Subject:      [FOLKDJ-L] Playlist-Sounds from the Mother Road
To: [log in to unmask]

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-601F1E45

It appears a mail gateway at unm.edu is virus-scanning outbound mail,
which is a good thing, I suppose, but I'm wondering why that would
interfere with Listserv appending a bottom banner. Any ideas?
