Setting him to 'DIGEST' will reduce the number of "undeliverable" messages
you'll get (by the ratio of postings-per-day divided by digests-per-day).
 
It doesn't matter whether he responds or he doesn't,
since the "pending-delivery" mail will be held at *his* end,
until the connection can be made.
