The easiest way is to go to the list management web
interface, click on templates, then click on welcome
message and edit form.

From there, all you have to do is make the changes on
screen. When you are finished, click update. Shortly,
the screen will tell you the message has been updated,
and you can check it to make sure it is right.

If you don't have the web interface active, or prefer
to do it by email, you have to GET the message, edit
it, the PUT the message back.

While you have the message, it will be locked at the
list, so it may temporarily interfere with anyone
trying to join until you PUT it back.

manual, chapter 9 gives a description of how to do it.
