Turns out that I do get the confirm/welcome from my university account, but
not from work or yahoo.

This is good in the sense that the confirm works, but very bad that listserv
does not cooperative with work or yahoo accounts.

Anyone have similar experiences or know where the problem lies?

It's my understanding that list-owners who join their owned lists, do NOT
get such.
